This is clearly an important FAX disc. It represents some of the best use that Namlook has put a synth to and some moving and inventive pieces that, for me, he hasn't returned to for some time, except perhaps in the guise of Air 3 and Sultan. Track 1 has already been seen on the Cookbook, an evolving pulse of synth washes with an emotive solo that builds over the piece. This is set against noises that move as if projected beyond the speakers into the room. This spatial expansion of the sound sets it apart from some of the more claustrophobic/deadened use of sound that Namlook has used since. Track 2 moves more upbeat while the rest of the ambient winds out in a quite classic ambient fashion that requires attention rather than fading into mere background music. The classic abstract early-FAX cover using the circle within a circle sums up the mood of the piece - uncertain places and feelings for your mind to explore. Evocative stuff indeed.
